A Save-the-Date design created for a friend's wedding in Chicago, IL. The design incorporated Chicago neighborhood landmarks that are significant to the couple, along with a caricature of the couple in the foreground.
Shown here are cartoon illustrations created for Colorado’s South Platte Basin Implementation Plan animation video on their website at http://southplattebasin.com The video is meant to educate the public regarding Colorado’s efforts to address water conservation issues and potential solutions for the future.
In collaboration with colleagues at HDR Architecture, I produced the sketches for the storyboard and final illustrations by hand and in Photoshop, in addition to performing the voice-over work for the video. Two Hundred, a visualization company based in Denver, was hired to produce the animation portion which involved assembling the illustrations into scenes and coordinating motion and sound.
The following images show the custom artwork I created for weddings including my own, involving a series of pen and ink illustrations of various landmarks, or floral watercolors. The artwork was applied to various wedding items including the invitations, ceremony programs, dinner menus, and reception table cards and centerpieces. Each table centerpiece was assigned its own table number and illustration of a notable building landmark.

Testimonials:
"We received many generous wedding gifts in the months leading up to and following our wedding. All were greatly appreciated. But Gavin was able to use his unique talent to give us something that will remain close to our hearts and proudly front and center on our wall for decades to come. His sketch of Beano's Cabin was so genuine and thoughtfully done that it instantly reminded us of why we chose to get married in that very place. Gavin was able to create a lasting sense of place for us to carry forever from our wedding night. For anyone celebrating a marriage or major life event in a place that holds more significance than a simple 'venue', I could not more highly recommend anyone than Gavin Sharp to take care that your place is an everlasting memory." -Laura Grauer
“Gavin put together amazing artwork, just like I had envisioned, that we made into little pins for our guests to wear at our wedding! Gavin's art was so fun but still noticeably "us." Our guests raved about the unique feature and I know plenty of people that still have the pins almost 4 years later! Gavin's attention to detail really helped a little something extra become a main feature. We're so glad we commissioned his custom work and have only the highest recommendations to give to anyone considering using his talents!” - Meghan McCann
